I used: Sandpaper Superglue/gorilla glue 30.5-37mm step up ring 37mm lens of choice I got the 37mm kenko wide angle/telephoto kit and the lensbaby 37mm macro kit from amazon. hathcocked.blogspot.com
@ktownskates I sanded it to improve the adhesion of the two parts, it might not be necessary but it is holding solid to this day a year later. The lens is a 37mm kenko wide angle.
@TheNicoSkates As long as they have a fixed lens that doesn’t extend in anyway and you can line it up with the adaptor it should work. I don’t have any experience trying it with any other model though. If I had it to do over I would just buy a better camera in the first place. It’s still working fine for me though.
I was orginally thinking of getting a camcorder not like a flip but now that ive seen all these cool things im thinking of just getting it instead of a 300 $ Standard Definition when i can get a 100$ HD camcorder with a fisheye mod!
@MrLemonnade It definitely improves the usefulness of the camera. The major drawback to the flip is the lack of a movable screen. I am thinking of upgrading when I can afford it to make doing tabletop reviews easier. Being able to see what is in frame while you are filming is in my opinion priceless.
@hathcocked i really just want this to test out editing softwares and just hangin out with my friends longboard and skateboard so its all just really for fun. I was just looking for an HD camera and i found this one and i thought its cheap and portable. And a question Which is better Flip ultra HD or Flip Mino HD?
@MrLemonnade The Ultra uses rechargeable double a batteries, records twice as long and has slightly better video quality then the Mino. However the Mino is about half the size and much lighter then the Ultra. If the larger size doesn’t bother you I would go with the Ultra.
@hathcocked But if i do this mod on it i wont be able to get to the batteries thats why i think i might velcro it. but i dont have really care if i have to charge it on the compuer.
if you want to put a lens on a flip (if you skate gtfo) and i dont know why im watching this.. but put a 37mm spacer ring around it not a step up. spacer = filter with glass punched out use that so the 2 will be flush, making less vignetting (for dumbasses, its the black things on the corners of vids that make it cirle like)
haha that looks fucking insane! in a good way
@valetdabess Thanks!
why did you sand it? and whats the lens called?
@ktownskates I sanded it to improve the adhesion of the two parts, it might not be necessary but it is holding solid to this day a year later. The lens is a 37mm kenko wide angle.
I spied a CoolerMaster PSU box back there. You are obviously a man of discerning tastes. Must be why we both own this camera.
@ascrane Hah! I think that was the box for my Coolermaster 590 Centurion case. They make great products.
can you do this kind of mod to any camcorder like the sanyo xacti vpc zh1r im barely starting to film so if you can help me please awnser

@hathcocked thanks man
Hey what type of fisheye is that? Is it a kenko 0.43x fisheye?
Would a sunpak 0.5x wide angle lens fit with a step-up ring?
@ThEsKaTeR521 As long as it’s 37 mm it should fit fine.
@ThEsKaTeR521 That’s a kenko 0.5x wide angle.
@hathcocked thx for answering just trying to find a wide angle or fisheye for a skate vid
Wait would 37mm lens fist a ultra hd?
@ThEsKaTeR521 As long as the step ring fits around the ultra’s lens and sits flat it should. I haven’t tried it on an ultra so I can’t say for sure.

Which lens model did you buy? Did it come with the Step-up ring?
@hamzaj123
I got the 37mm kenko wide angle/telephoto kit and the lensbaby 37mm macro kit from amazon. No it didn’t come with the ring.
