Quick opening & first use of a Nexxtech 3303003A microphone I picked up at The Source (Canada's Circuit City) for plus 3-year warranty. If the video wabbles at all, thats because I forgot to turn off electronic image stabilization ;) but I think rendering took care of that. The video sections that get small in resolution were done on my JVC Everio in 480p, while the rest was on my Kodak Zi8 in 720p

    Just a quick video to compare two microphones using the Kodak Zi8 pocket video camera's external stereo mic input: a fake counterfeit Hong Kong Sony "ECM-DS70P"-lookalike microphone bought from eBay for .00 including shipping, and a real Made in Japan Sony ECM-DS30P stereo microphone bought from Amazon.com for . The real Sony ECM-DS70P would be the best external mic for this camera. It has both much better stereo separation than the fake Hong Kong Sony version of it, and much better bass response than the tinny little Sony ECM-DS30P. But for .00, the fake Sony mic isn't bad, if you don't mind not having much stereo separation.

      Two recent thrift store finds, both working perfectly: a Sony Handycam Vision CCD-TRV32 standard Video8 (not Hi8) camcorder from 1997, and a Toshiba Satellite 105CS laptop, also from around 1997, with a 75 MHz Pentium processor, 40 MB of RAM, 4 GB hard drive, 640x480 color "dual scan" passive matrix LCD, and Windows 98 -- but no CD-ROM drive or sound card.

        This is a full in-depth review of the kodak zi8 camera. It is a wonderful camera that shoots full HD at 1080P. The biggest selling point is the SD card slot and the External mic input.           I've been using my Zoom H2 as a "mic" with my Kodak Zi8. Now that Kodak has finally replaced my malfunctioning camera, I'm ready to test some accessory mics.
