What is a good USB camcorder for a macbook?

I have a current generation macbook, not macbook pro. I have no firewire but i want to get high quality video onto my mac. I'm not talking a Flip video camera, I'm talking a real camcorder that I can fit a fisheye lens onto. I can't spend thousands of dollars, so being told about a professional video camera won't help me

    Problem connecting my Sony Camcorder to my Computer via Firewire?

    Okay so my I have a Sony DCR-TRV22 will not connect to my computer. I am using a firewire to connect it. Do i need to download some software, and if i do, is it safe? My project is due tomorrow... so help will deffinitaly be appreciated :D

    How do I transfer video from my Panasonic Digital Video Camcorder PV-GS32 to my computer?

    My computer (Mac Book Pro) does not recognize my Panasonic Digital Video Camcorder PV-GS32. I need to transfer the video from the mini tape to my computer. I have tried restarting, plugging the firewire in and out and shutting the camera on and off. How do I get it to recognize it, and then onto my computer to edit? Thank you!

    How do I connect an old (10 y.o) camcorder (Panasonic PV-DV400D) to a newer laptop (HP HDX Series) with Vista?

    Both devices have inputs for a firewire, but it is the female end looking for a male. Is there a male-male firewire adaptor? Would it work for my application?

    I have an older JVC camcorder and would like to hook it up to my camera, how do I do it?

    I have an older JVC camcorder. I didn't think it worked anymore, but found out it did. I don't have any software that goes with the camera and I ordered a wire with firewire on one end and a USB on the other. My computer (with Windows 7) doesn't recognize the camera or the wire.
    Is there any way I can connect my camera to my computer and have it recognized?
